Chandos’s 2014 recording of Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius, with Stuart Skelton in the title role, was announced as winner of the Choral Award at the BBC Music Magazine Awards in London on April 7th, 2015. Recorded in the run-up to concert performances last year, the recording also features soloists Sarah Connolly (whose Sea Pictures are included in the same recording) and David Soar, with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Sir Andrew Davis.
